Apartments and townhouses will no longer be developed in Brisbane’s suburbs zoned low-density residential. Earlier this month, Brisbane City Council voted unanimously in favour of making a Temporary Local Planning Instrument (TLPI) under the Planning Act 2016(the Act) to ban apartments and townhouses in low density residential areas.
At the finalisation of a subdivision or multiple dwelling development, a Survey Plan is required to be lodged with the relevant local Council for approval. This process is known as Plan Sealing which facilitates the creation of new titles and the formal transfer of lots or units to buyers.
Lodging a development application can be daunting for first timers and for those with little knowledge of the process involved or requirements that need to be met in obtaining approval from Council.
